Tsunami Relief Fundraiser

Community Generosity in Action

Thanks to the generosity of Budlong students and staff, the school raised and sent $509.39 to the Children's First Fund for tsunami relief. The funds were forwarded to the American Red Cross to support recovery efforts.

This collective effort reflected the compassion and community spirit that defines Budlong School. Students, families, and staff came together to make a meaningful contribution during a time of global need.

About the Budlong Commentary

The Budlong Commentary was the official PTA newsletter of Budlong School, published to keep families informed about school events, fundraising initiatives, and community news. Each edition featured updates from the Principal's office alongside contributions from teachers, parents, and staff.

The newsletter served as a vital link between the school and its families, celebrating student achievements and highlighting opportunities for parent involvement.

The Principal's Corner has long served as a vital communication hub between the school's leadership and the Budlong community. Through this space, families receive updates on school initiatives, student achievements, and upcoming events that shape the academic year. It reflects the open-door philosophy that guides the school's administration, ensuring that parents and guardians remain informed partners in their children's education. The news corner also highlights the collaborative spirit between teachers, staff, and families, reinforcing the shared commitment to student success that has become a hallmark of the school culture.

Community engagement lies at the heart of what makes Budlong a special place to learn and grow. When students, families, and staff unite around a common cause, the results are both inspiring and meaningful. Fundraising efforts and service projects teach students valuable lessons about empathy, responsibility, and the impact of collective action. These experiences extend learning beyond the classroom, showing young people that their efforts can make a tangible difference in the wider world. The school takes pride in nurturing this sense of social awareness and generosity in every student who walks through its doors.

Looking ahead, the Principal's Corner will continue to evolve as a dynamic resource for the school community. Planned improvements include more frequent updates, expanded coverage of classroom activities, and deeper spotlights on student accomplishments across all grade levels. The goal remains simple: to keep every family connected to the daily life and ongoing progress of the school. By maintaining transparent and consistent communication, the administration hopes to strengthen the bonds that make Budlong a welcoming, supportive, and thriving environment for learners of all ages.
